A secluded log cabin hideaway…
Shank Wood Log Cabin – the secluded log cabin – is situated in the middle of a 2 mile stretch of the River Lyne, just north of Carlisle near the Lake District.
The wildlife and fauna in the area are second to none with Roe Deer, Otters and Kingfishers frequently sited in the woods near your cabin. Our hot tub holidays offer beautiful riverside walks. After a day out you can head back to your cabin and keep warm by the wood burner. Or enjoy bathing in the hot tub whilst watching the river flowing in front of you.
The cabin sleeps up to 4 people, with a mezzanine level in open accommodation and has a luxury hot tub, and a wood burner in the living area. There is a hot running shower, toilet and sink enclosed in a bathroom pod to the rear of the cabin. There is a fridge and kitchen unit inside the cabin. We are dog friendly and your dogs can come for free to enjoy the sites and sounds of the river Lyne right on your doorstep.
When visiting the area there are many things to do, such as Pony Trekking, Cycle Hire & Go Ape to name but a few. Or you can visit Carlisle Castle & Hadrian’s Wall, both 30 minutes drive from the secluded log cabin. Situated not far from the Lake District, where you can go mountain climbing, hiking and canoeing.

Gretna Green has fantastic shopping and Gretna Gateway Outlet Village has great brands at low costs. Carlisle is a 20 minute drive away and filled with fantastic restaurants, shops and cinemas.
