Enjoy complete seclusion at your Lake District log cabins with hot tub, situated only 45 minutes from Keswick Shank Wood Log Cabin is the perfect woodland retreat. To help reduce our carbon footprint we have added a few eco-friendly touches in keeping with the cabins’ location. The way the cabin differs from other lodges with hot tubs is that it was made using the whole tree trunk, skillfully carved one on top of the other, to create the desired effect, much like a canadian built log cabin and completely secluded away from it all.
As Shank Wood Log Cabin is based in a special area of scientific interest it has been designed to work in conjunction with nature as much as possible, instead of agains it. Therefore lighting is provided by solar power, facilities by a peat toilet, and heating by a clean burn wood burner making the cabin a joy in both the winter and the summer. An outdoor sink provides running water for cooking, drinking and washing up. There is a 3 pin plug in the cabin that can take small electrical items, there is no shower however you are able to use the hot tub as a bath. The hot tub holidays are self catering and the large weber BBQ can cook most foods and boil the kettle, and all gas you need is provided for this. There are no fridge facilities but the river is normally pretty cold.
