Enjoy complete seclusion in Shank Wood Log Cabin, complete with luxury hot tub, situated only 45 minutes from Keswick. To help reduce our carbon footprint we have added a few eco-friendly touches in keeping with the cabins’ location. The cabin has been made using whole tree trunks, skillfully carved one on top of the other.
Based in a special area of scientific interest, the cabin has been designed to work in conjunction with nature. The heating is provided by a clean burn wood burning oven/stove. This makes the cabin perfect in both the winter and summer. Also an outdoor sink provides water for cooking, drinking and washing up. The cabin is self-catering and the large weber BBQ can cook most foods and boil the kettle, gas is provided for this. There is a fridge and kitchen unit in the cabin.

Shank Wood log cabin is set in the perfect location to enjoy the surrounding countryside with the national trust walks on your doorstep. There is a beautiful path along the river to follow the many nooks and crannies of the wood, maybe even a romantic area to propose! After an afternoon stroll you can return to your log cabin and relax in the hot tub.

If you are looking to explore the local countryside a little further perhaps you would like to hire a bike, Bike Seven in Longtown are a great! Book these activities in advance. Whilst cabin breaks offer tranquil, relaxing stays you maybe looking for some more adventurous activities to do during your holiday. We are appoximately 1 hour 30 minutes from Go Ape! in Grizedale forest. Or you could try your hand at some of the water sports available on Lake Windermere including waterskiing or try fell climbing in Keswick.
