Brampton is a small charming market town that has around 4000 inhabitants.
Great shops include Cranstons the butchers where you can pick up locally sourced cumbrian meat which is great quality.
There is also a local grocery shop selling fresh vegetables, a health food shop.
The Famous Cumbrian Antiques Centre is located in Brampton where you can find wonderful antiques.
Off Grid Cabin
Longtown is a small market town which is steeped in history being on the border of Scotland and England. The Solway Firth is located close to Longtown which is popular with bird watchers.
It has a local butchers, bakery, and a fantastic fish and chip shop – Border Cod – which David Cameron visited on his campaign!

Tullie House
Things to do in Carlisle
Only 25 minutes drive from the cabins is the city of Carlisle. It has plenty of interesting activities to do whilst on your log cabin holiday.
Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery boasts a wide range of features, exhibitions and artefacts. Children and adults can enjoy hands-on exibihits and games, from firing a Roman weapon to climbing a lifesize Hadrian’s Wall!

Carlisle Castle
Visit the beautiful Carlisle Cathedral in the centre of town and learn about its turbulent history and marvel its fantastic stained glass windows. Or visit Carlisle Castle, which is over 900 years old and was a constantly updated working fortress until within living memory.
Shopping & Entertainment
There are plenty of shops in Carlisle including all the high street shops there is a department store called Hoopers where you will find high end fashion clothes.
Cinema
The Vue Cinema in Carlisle shows all box office films and is located on Botchergate near the centre of town.
